The Story of the Satchwells

This 46-page document is reached from the Home page and can be printed and read on its own.

It contains the chart descriptions which are on the site, but doesn’t include the actual pedigree charts and extra information which are available on the website. Feel free to circulate this, although it is still not finished!

In addition I have added burials for the Rugby Cemeteries to the pedigree charts named Rugby and Dover, and to the Parish Registers – Warwickshire document.

I am now looking forward to a rest!

Leamington-William and Stratford charts

Both Old Milverton and Warwick2 charts are now combined into Leamington-William.

Also the two Stratford-on-Avon charts are combined (although there is a very early marriage!)

Work updating the Story of the Satchwells is continuing.

1911 census complete

Transcription of all the censuses for all three surname variants is now complete. I’ve begun adding details to some of the charts, beginning with Rugby and Dover, which are updated.

There are more individuals at Rugby and at Leicester who stem from the Rugby area who I’ve not yet placed on a chart.  This will be looked at soon.

The statistical table showing numbers of Satchwells in each county of England and Wales in each census year is updated on the UK Sources/Census page as well as the table just for Warwickshire.

Milestone reached for Warwickshire

After two visits to Warwick I’m now much more confident that all the entries for Satch(w)ells throughout Warwickshire may now have been collected. I’ve begun adding the entries for Rugby Clifton Road Cemetery.

A new chart, Dover, has been started for some of the Rugby Satchells. A chart description is in the pipeline. There is a further line of Satchells in Rugby stemming from Braunston which has not yet been linked to the existing Braunston chart.

The will of James Satchell carpenter of Warwick is summarised on the UK Sources/Wills page.

The transcription of the 1911 census for Satchells is still under way.

Many thanks to Carew, Rosemary, Roy and Hazel who I met this week and last. It was great to see you.

Warwickshire updates

A number of additional entries in the parish registers in Warwickshire have now been collected, and charts Frankton, Rugby and Bedworth have some minor amendments because of this. Many other 17th and 18th century parish register entries have not yet been allocated to charts.

The 1901 census for Satchell has now been transcribed and is on the UK Sources/Census page.

A further collection trip is planned and the 1911 census for Satchell will be started on soon.
